Zane Vella is a proven innovator of entertainment and technology and an accomplished producer and director. He founded the Related Content Database Inc. (RCDb) in 2006 to develop software and services for BD-Live and value-added Blu-ray players. RCDb BD-Live technology currently powers innovative BD-Live releases from major studios, record labels and independent content owners.

RCDb technology and network services make it possible to easily and reliably merge Blu-ray and the Web.

Prior to founding RCDb, Zane was president and CEO of MX Entertainment where he produced award-winning DVDs for major studios, labels and retailers including 20th Century Fox, Warner Music Group, and Best Buy. Zane represented MX in the Blu-ray Disc Association from 2004 to 2006 and has continued to work with the BDA and partner companies on BD-Live technology development, testing, and promotion activities.

Prior to MX, Zane was founder and creative director of SmashTV, a media technology and development company specializing in music and entertainment applications. SmashTV was known for its pioneering work with entertainment brands including Apple, EXPN, MTV Networks and Wired Ventures. The company produced one of the first live webcasts in history from the Lollapalooza Festival in 1994, developed the "Live@Exploratorium" webcast series for NASA and the NSF, and created CitySpace, the first user-generated real-time 3D virtual world on the Internet.
